As of June 15, Stanley Mosk Courthouse Department 44, which previously handled miscellaneous Civil proceedings including post-judgment matters, is closed as a Civil department. Existing inventory and new filings will be assigned as follows: 

• All post-judgment Civil matters will be assigned to the originating courtroom. 

• Mechanics Liens, Labor Commission Appeals/Conferences and Administrative Appeals will be assigned to Department 25 and Department 26 at the Spring Street Courthouse for Limited Jurisdiction cases; and to Unlimited Jurisdiction courtrooms countywide if the cases are unlimited jurisdiction. 

• Name Change/Recognition of Change of Gender/Issuance of New Birth Certificate matters will be heard in Department 20 and Department 72 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. 

• Safe-at-Home applications will be assigned to Department 1 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. 

Effective June 22, Department 44 will reopen as a Probate courtroom, Judge Deborah L. Christian presiding. 

The Spring Street Courthouse is located at 312 N. Spring St., Los Angeles 90012. The Stanley Mosk Courthouse is located at 111 N. Hill St., Los Angeles 90012.
